INTENDED ACTION: Amend
SUBSTANCE OF -PROPOSED ACTION: The Agency is deleting the references to hospital emergency room Z codes. These codes have been converted to the CPT codes used by hospitals to bill for physician services. Since Medicare uses these CPT codes this change will allow crossover claims to process without delay and will satisfy HIPAA requirements for standardized coding.

FINAL DATE FOR COMMENT AND COMPLETION OF NOTICE: Written comments concerning this amendment change must be received by the Alabama Medicaid Agency no later than February 4, 2000.
