SUBJECT: Amendments to Alabama State Plan for Medical Assistance

Effective March 1, 2002, the Alabama Medicaid Agency is proposing to amend Supplement I to Attachment 4.19-B of the Alabama State Plan for Medical Assistance.

The change to Supplement I to Attachment 4.19-B is due to the implementation of the Prospective Payment System for Independent Rural Health Clinics (IRFIC) and Provider Based Rural Health Clinics (PBRHC). With the implementation, changes were made to ensure that PBRHCs and IRHCs receive appropriate reimbursement for Medicaid/Medicare crossover claims.

A copy of the proposed changes will be made available upon request for public review at each county office of the Department of Human Resources and the State Office of the Alabama Medicaid Agency.
